Red Bean Paste Steamed Buns

Red Bean Paste Steamed Buns

Ingredients:

250g all-purpose flour

140g warm milk

20g granulated sugar

4g yeast

  1. Whisk all the ingredients in a stand mixer until all the ingredients come together and form a dough ball.
  2. Take the dough out of the stand mixer bowl, and knead by hand until it gains a smooth surface.
  3. Set the dough in a clean bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise until doubled in size.
  4. Knead the dough by hand to get rid of the air inside the dough. Divide the dough into 8 pieces and roll into balls.
  5. Flatten the dough balls, add the red bean paste as filling, and seal it up.
  6. Let them set for 20 minutes.
  7. Set the buns in a pot with water. Heat until water boil, reduce to heat to medium, and steam the buns for 15 minutes. Turn off the heat; let the buns set for another 5 minutes.
  8. Remove the lid and let buns cool until safe to touch.
