Dutch Oven Bread

Dutch Oven Bread

Ingredients:

600g bread flour

480g warm water

5g instant yeast

1&1/2 tbsp. salt

Steps:

  1. In a bowl of warm water, put in 5g instant yeast, mix well.
  2. Put all the ingredients into the stand mixer bowl, beat until it comes together. Grease the mixing bowl with vegetable oil/olive oil, place the dough in it and let it rise until doubled in size.
  3. Dust some flour onto its surface, scrape the dough out of the bowl, and divide into two pieces. If you have a large enough Dutch oven, you can skip this part. Mine is too small to take all the dough at one time.
  4. Shape each piece into a dough ball, let rest until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 410(210), place the Dutch oven in it and bake for 30 minutes.
  6. Dust the dough with some flour, take the Dutch oven out and place it on a trivet (because it is very hot right now), carefully place the dough into the Dutch oven (Be careful, it is very hot!), cover with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes. If you did not divide the dough, it may take more time to bake. Take the lid off for the last 5 minutes. Watch the heat, not to burn the surface of the bread as I did. Take the bread out of the Dutch oven and let it cool down on the cooling rack and then slice.
