Description

Brownies are a beloved classic dessert known for their rich, decadent texture and deep chocolate flavor. Typically baked in a square or rectangular pan, brownies are a type of dense, flat cake, which can vary in texture from fudgy to cakey, depending on their ingredients and preparation method.

The traditional brownie recipe includes melted chocolate or cocoa powder, butter, sugar, eggs, and flour. Variants often incorporate nuts such as walnuts or pecans, chocolate chips, or elements like caramel or mint to enhance the flavor profile. The mixture is usually poured into a pan and baked until the edges are slightly crispy and the center remains moist and gooey, offering a delightful contrast in textures.

Brownies are served either warm or at room temperature, often cut into squares or rectangles. They can be enjoyed plain or dressed up with toppings like powdered sugar, frosting, ice cream, or a drizzle of chocolate sauce. These treats are a favorite at gatherings and a comforting snack or dessert that appeals to all ages, delivering a satisfying bite of chocolatey indulgence.

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate chips and butter, mix in vanilla extract, mix well and set aside.

  2. In a clean bowl, put in 3 eggs and sugar, whisk until well combined. Gradually add into the chocolate mixture and mix well.
  3. Sift in the flour, gently fold in the flour until well combined. Fold in the chopped walnuts until well combined.
  4. Preheat the oven to 356℉(180℃). Grease the cake pan and pour in the batter, smooth it out. Send into the oven to bake for 35-40 minutes. The cake pan I used is a bit narrow so my brownie comes out thick. If you are going to use a wide cake pan, you should probably shorten the baking time. Keep a close eye on them and use a toothpick to check if the brownies are done.
  5. Let cool completely before slicing.

Note

By cake flour, I mean low protein flour, which normally contains 7-9% protein (Mine is around 8%). Not self-rising flour.
